Some updates on the project.
No Mercedes brakes. The conpany who made the MB based suspension went out of business. New plans are Jaguar rear and Fatman stage III in the front. Yes I've heard some bad things about Fatman, but I've already bought the stuff so I'll give them a chance.
The welding and lead filling on the body is finished and all the main parts are ready to be fitted to the chassis soon. I just need to box the frame. Here's the new rear crossmemeber made & fitted too:

It is obvious from the pictures that you are not sitting in front of the PC. :LOL: Things are really coming along well. Your meticulous re-conditioning is something to behold. In an earlier post you were concerned about your Fatman's purchase, I assume that it worked out for you. Continued good luck with your build.

It sort of worked out, yes.
"Sort of" because the distance between the coilover towers didn't match with what the rather poor mounting instruction said and because the car now sits too high with the standard M II spindles that Fatman insisted on would fit my car best.
I wanted the 100$ option dropped spindles, but they insisted on standard hight and I am (was) the newbee that didn't argue with the experts.

To their defence, it's problaby is hard to figure out just how a finishd rod will look like, but then again, the front crossmember now has 6,1" ground clearance, and since they knew the tire dimension I was going to use, some bells should have ringed in their heads.

But the quality of their parts looks fine.

Now I have it down where I want it. Dropped spindles in front and engine, trans & rear axle raised 1". Ground clearance 4".

I've also made a new transmission cover. The T56 trans sits high and the space for 3 pedals are not more than it have to be.
