Good luck with your build though, I wish you lots of good luck with it.
I have got a 72 Vette and have had nothing but problems it.
The wife wants it kept original and I want to do after market so it is more reliable.
Thanks to the problems with the vaccum and a saftey switch that never seams to work right it's cost me alot of money. The door for the wipers comes open half way the wipes hit it get stuck, burns up wipers motor the alt's and anything else that it can along the way. I want to put a longer hood on it and do away with the door then I want to switch the head light over from vaccum and make them electric. I've had the entire vaccum system redone but you get one little leak or something goes bad and nothing works.
The wife won't let me fix it for good so I let it sit and won't touch it, till she finally gives in. After spending almost five grand trying to do it the original way and it still does not work. I am ready to try another approach.

Unless it is a rare car, I would throw all of the vacum crap away and go electric. However I replaced everything on my 69, and it helps to grease the shafts of the headlight actuators with some Dow silicone grease. I even had to do that with the new ones. it helps seal around the bellows.....
