    New here

    Hello all:

This looks like a great forum and I am happy I found it. my fleet consists of a 1957 chevy, a 1951 Studebaker, a 2008 Corvette and a 1996-built replica of a 1950's era Teardrop trailer.

I grew up in North Hollywood, CA, graduated from Cal State Northridge, spent 5 years in the Navy as an Aviator, then 30 more years with Delta Air Lines as a pilot, retiring in 2003. I've been a car nut for over 50 years, partcipating in Drag Racing, Go Karts, Autocross, Dune Buggies and off road Motorcycles. I now live in Dallas, TX, as my job took me here many years ago. My wife and I are looking to move back to CA if the real estate market will ever move!

The '57 has a B & M supercharged 327, 700R4 trans, 3.73 posi ten-bolt, air, CPP500 power steering, disc brakes with a hydroboost and a lot more. It has been a long hauler on two Power Tours as well as been to Reno for Hot August Nights and to the Back to the Fifties meet on St Paul--I drive it!

The '51 Stude is currently in the body shop getting painted. It has a Weiand blown 350, TH400 trans with a Gear Vendors OD, narrowed 12 bolt rear end, custom dash, air, a '68 Camaro front clip, Stainless Steel front disc brakes and a lot more.

I do have one question for the moderators, I have entered a post last Friday and it has yet to be posted. I belong to several other forums and my posts there go in immediately. Is there some policy here where all posts must be checked over for viruses or something? I do not remember reading anything about this when I signed up. I would appreciate a response on this so I know what is going on. I am not posting photos as this might be the fly in the ointment as to why my posts seem to be held up. Larry

Welcome aboard Larry. Your automobile resume is impressive and it looks like you will fit right in here. It looks like you REALLY drive your cars, that's terrific...........most of us on here feel the same way.

One of our Mods or more knowledgeable members can fill you in on the delay thing, I think there is something like that, but don't know much about it. BTW, post up some pictures of the stable, we love looking at pictures, never get too many.

Recently I posted two times to my original post in the Hot Rod Talk section of this forum. To date, neither has been added to the forum. I am wondering why? I have received no communication from the forum on this; I used no bad language, demeaned no other person or business so I am at a loss as to why. I have been a poster to several other forums and have never had this situation come up. I would really appreciate some feedback from the powers that be here, why my posts have not been posted to the forum. Thank you, Larry

When you're new, the first like 10 or so posts have to be checked by the moderator. We used to have a lot of problem with spammers and stuff... Nothing personal, just the way the site has to be to keep the trash out

Welcome th CHR Larry. I was wondering by chance if youknew my cousin who flew for Delta for 35 years. His name was Bart Green.
Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

I don't remember that name. I was based primarily in the DFW area for my career. We had lots of other crew bases, so I really only got to know the guys in my base.

I figured that as he was flying all over where Delta flew and in his last few years, he flew to Russia and back.
