Hot Rod Todd from New Zealand

    Hi All,

Im from Christchurch New Zealand and have a 23 T bucket with a blown BBC, a 26 T coupe with a 302 Ford, a 37 Nash sedan with a LT1 350 chev with a vortex blower. We also have the genesis of a 60s style altered - will get a BBC and glide that I just happen to have sitting around, and my wife has a 37 Topolino with a little Toyota engine in it.

and theres an A40 pickup truck with a mint body that wants to be a gasser.

Got the nostalgia drag racing bug so am now real good at busting stuff.

T coupe will be finished & street legal in march 2010 (real soon) and the bucket will be repaired and back on our local dragstrip in a few weeks time. Melted the old blown 454 so upsized to a blown 540. Will be fast enough to justify having a parachute this time

    Cheers
    Todd

Robin, I put Rowena on the plane home tonight & Im staying here till the bucket is running.

Hoping to drive it by wednesday night.

And Ro saw the T sedan screensaver on my laptop & thunk it looked pretty cool. Told her you have one in the shed waiting for me. And she seemed pretty relaxed about that.

Have a drag racing meet in Christchurch on 13 March so need to be home before then. Best time to date (2 years ago now) in the bucket was 10.2 @ 132mph. Having upsized, Im expecting to drive to the track, run a 9 thru the mufflers and on street tyres. And hopefully drive home having avoided breaking stuff!

    Now that would be cool.

I sent some photos thru to Robin & said nice things to him so he may post them on here.

I have raced the bucket over the past 5 years, at Meremere, Taupo and Masterton. Shifted it south 18 months ago and melted the engine so hoping to race Ruapuna mid March.

    Thanks Robin.

My mistake with the Topolino was most unfortunate. The insurance people had to get the replacement nose from Switzerland and then get it modified to fit the car.

The bucket is getting some wheelie bars to go with the bigger engine, and Im wondering if I need a Wild Willy style wing on top of the cage.

But its really just a wild street car. The altered project will get the junkyard alky 477 BBC, a 671 and a 4 port Hilborn. And one of Robins T bodies that I just happen to have sitting around along with a tired turtledeck.

That nostalgia racing bug bit hard!
