    permission to come aboard!

I've always liked that line. Hi, My name is Gene. I am from north east IL. I am starting my first engine build... A small block Chevy 350. Not looking to pop wheelies or anything like that, but want to spin the back tires now and then.
This will replace the tired 305 in my 77 impala coupe. I have bought and read most of the basic rebuild books, spent a ton of time on the internet researching, went to many car shows/cruise nights, and now I am ready. Look forward to using this sight as it looks very informative. Get ready for a boat load of questions, opinions, and "how do I's" Regards, Gene

As you were - welcome to the greatest forum on the web. Lots of information here - especially on building a small block. We'll help you with all kinds of ideas and suggestions. Most everyone here has a few stories on how "not-to-do-it" as well and we can steer you away from the major "gotchas" that will kill a good build.

    So start asking!
