    New guy from OKC

Hey everyone, I'm J.R.. I've got a little sbc S10 currently, but leaning on building a ratrod/streetrod in the near future if I can sell the S10. A good friend of mine has a wide variety of options of what I can build as he has several frames and body options. I definetly like the whole ratrod things, but I like fast hotrods too. So I'm shooting for building one on the cheap as much as possible, but still maybe street and a bit of strip fun. Just something light that'll be a blast to cruise around in and run fairly quick. So I'll be poking around here and likely to be asking lots of questions.

Welcome to the forum, losiman. There's lots of knowledge here to specific questions. You might use the Search function to go back in time, too.

S-10. Chop the top off at the cowl. Fashion a 6" tall windscreen from Lexan with a hand-operated wiper to satisfy the safety Nazis. Toss the hood and front fenders. Gut the interior, including all the garbage inside the doors. Mount two plastic kitchen chairs. Fabricate a straight 2"x4" frame. Mount a '28 A radiator shell. Mount a 500" Eldorado complete front drive package up front. Remove the bed. Mount a 500" Eldorado complete front drive package out back. Fabricate a sheet metal bed box. There now, 1000 cubic inches of 4X4 fun.

Tempting, but I actually sold the truck today. So now I will be looking into the street rod avenue. I see lots of rods I really like but I don't know the body styles well enough to know what they are. So I'll have to do some serious research soon. Thanks for the welcomes.
