Hello from Tennessee
Hello out there. I've been reading post for a few months so I guess it's time to introduce myself. I'm on the backside of 50 and still going strong. Just the average working Joe. I've worked in the automotive industry for 25 years. My brother got my interest started in hot rods early in life. He had a red oxide primered 1940 Ford coupe with a Rocket Olds motor when I was 6 ( he was in high school). I loved that car. Then he went to colleage and the 40 was sold. My first car was a 1965 VW piece of junk. After a few months of thrashing I got the old Bug running and driving good. The VW lasted me through high school. Into the real world. Married with kids no money for hot rods. Sounds sad doesn't it. My brother sold me a 1954 Ford f-100 I used as a daily driver. Then we bought a 1966 Impala, 1967 chevy pickup and a 1968 chevy pickup. They are all gone now. Our 1940 Chevy coupe is our hot rod now. The 40 is very dependable. We are currently building a 1937 Chevy two door sedan.305 TPI with 700R4, PS, PB.
Cars were built to drive and thats what we do drive them.
We enjoy the local cruise-ins and road trips. A trip out west in the 40 is in the works. We are not car show people who needs a trophy to collect dust ? Some of our best memories are road trips with our hot rod friends.
Well I guess that is enough rambling about me. See ya on the road...RickIt's easy..Just ask someone that hasn't ever done it!
See ya on the road.

Hello Rick and welcome to CHR. It's good to see so many from our area on here. I'd like to see some pictures of your 40 Coupe. I'm currently refurbishing my 41 Stude. The 40 Ford Coupe is probably my favorite car of the fourties. Post some pictures and see ya around. -robertKeep on cuttin and gluein.. No needles required... ~robert
