I spent six years in the US Navy and now my son is in the Army. He is a combat medic and was just sent over to Iraq the first part of July. It will be a long 400 days (the length of his deployment)

I would like to see some pics of your 59 sometime.

    Rick,
Thanks to you and your son For your service.

    Rank,
Its been quit some time since I have traveled north of the Golden Gate on the 101. I didn't think there were any stop lights anymore between SF and Eureka. I'm guessing somewhere around Laytonville. If it truly is a secret there is no need to answer.

Oh no secrets here , but the "1st stoplite" thingy is a local joke because we are , in fact the first one .... I think the next is another 130 miles up the 101 in Eureka. I am in Willits, just 20 miles south of Laytonville.

We also have a arch across 101 that is sorta unique.

    Hi again, Rank,
Thanks for the reply. I was born in Eureka and lived in one city or another on the 101 from 1942 till 1975 when I moved to Wa. Still have cousins in Eureka and need to get down there to visit before they forget who I am. Have been thru Willits many times in the past, in fact the last time I remember it was 115 degrees when we passed thru. What do you do in Willits?

    Jack.

    Jack

Considering the present economy around here I think you are asking "Do you grow dope?" The answer is a reverberating "No!" LOL ... there definatly is a sub-culture here that does.

I pound nails, probably always will considering how my retirement dwindled with the stock market.

Speaking of weather, I drove up the Columbia River to purchase my C-4 about five years ago and crossed into WA at The Dalles .... the temp was in the triple digets the whole time. Funny who we percieve the attaction of locations on the weather conditions at the time.

A Navy Jet also crashed into the river during that trip.
