    hang in there techdog. I can fully understand your love of the elky. My monte is the same car just different body. Your elky will come. I haunted craigslist until I found my car.

    Hi, I just joined and have to say that I just turned 50 myself last month and I decided I wanted an older hot rod. I found a 72 396 big block El Camino with a 12 bolt posi, 355 gears, real clean, not perfect but I'm happy. It's has a cam and 3" exhaust so when you stop next to me at a light you definitely hear me. It's cool. I say go for it.
