    new kid here

I am Jimmy, 17, and have a 1964 1/2 Mustang coupe. you can see pictures of it here: www.cardomain.com/id/fast64stang the car actually looks like crap up close, but great in pictures I am not going the traditional restoration for a mustang, I am going to trick it out I am going to repaint it black with ghost flames. lots of crap will be shaved (i am keeping the doors handles for the time being b/c its my daily driver) I will keep the interior red as well, but update the front seats with 94+ mustang seats, add roddoor door panels, a roddoor center console, a custom dash, custom trunk. lots of billet aluminum will be added, along with a lowering job and 17" billet specialties rims. i'm also getting ready to start on a 500+ hp N/A 408 stroker

what are you nuts, your trying to turn classic muscle into a rice rod ( 17" rims, lowered ) all of these things you do to a rice rocket. you'll never get it to look right, also your 408 stroker will never fit right if at all. keep the dash as they are starting to come back ( 05 mustang ) and keep origional interior because you have nice seats and doorpanals, just update the sound system. The billit aluminum is a nice idea . those ss rims are hot on that car dont take them off. If you lowered the car and put in the 408 your rear end would dig in from the torq and it being so low . These are just common sense idea's that you should think about.

Well weve heard from a kid rodder that wants his stang to have a ricer look, a kid whos putting a chevy in a mercedes(which is kinda cool), and streets who is a die hard street rodder. All I can say is if the stangs trashed beyond restoration then rice rod it if you want, if not then sell it and go buy a real ricer if you like lowered cars and 17 inch rims.

i guess you *** holes have never seen a good looking mustang that isnt stock. if 17's and lowered is rice, i guess boyd coddington is a ricer. you dumb***** have had your head up your ass for so long you dont think anything looks good unless its yours. and more the dumb**** that thinks i cant fit a 351 in my car, i can supply you with sites of lots of 65's with 351s, mustangsunlimited sells 351 conversion headers, the headers are the only parts that dont fit from the stock motor

and another thing, if you think its rice just b/c i kid is building it, i bet i know lots of kids that have built rods way better lookin than yours\

My Studebaker is low, does that make it a ricer? I agree with building it your way, just like Burger King. Welcome to the forum Jimmy, how about taking it easy on the rough language though. We can get our points across without resorting to profanity. Matt expressed his opinion, which is his right to do, he coulda been nicer about it too, but diplomacy is something we all have to learn.

Good luck with your project, and keep us posted

nice project but to you all who downed his ideas put this into prospective

90% of you probably drool over the elenor clone and it had 18s in the front and 20s in the rear and the car had a 3in front and 4in rear lowering kit so i think some of you should think about what you are downing before you post it ( just like you have probably have been told all your life, think before you speak; duhh its common sence!)

So fast 64 would my 65 'stang bb gasser project be considered the anti-Boyd by your definition? Its not lowered, has the gasser nose bleed stance, doesnt have the all important 17 inch rims, it doesnt have a stereo system, absolutely no billet crap, and instead of putting a new stangs interior in it I ripped it all out and just have two glass seats.

i'm not saying that building something like that wouldn't be cool, I am just saying this is the way I am building this specific car. I'm not that average punk kid that you obviously think i am that only thinks 24" rims and 8 subs in the trunk is "pimp". I could easily turn this project into a track car, but whats the point of that if I wouldn't get to take it to the track and race it like its meant to be raced?

the reason i quit the local mustang club is the same reason I am not going to be a regular poster here anymore. all you old farts wont take the chance to get to know me b/c you think that i dont know shit about cars except for neon lights and 25" exhaust tips. you don't respect the fact that as i may not be as knowledgeable about cars as you yet, I want to learn. kids like me are the kids that will keep cars like yours around after your old fart hearts give out so the following generations dont just see little honda wwwwweeeee'ing around. you instantly label me the "punk kid" probably because when you were 16 you saw the first few years of the mustang and wanted one so bad but instead you got your moms 57 straight 6 station wagon, and guess what, I got one when I was 16! and dont go off calling me a spoiled rich kid either, I work my butt off everyday to earn money to buy my car and buy stuff for my car.

i guess in the search for another forum to join, i joined "club-we dont-want-any-of-them-young-kids-because-I am-a-grumpy-old-fart-that-thinks-i-am-right-because-I-am-old hot rod forum"

i guess after i hold my ground in this thread because you ***** have no respect for me i will find another forum, and I am sure I will find a forum that realizes that I young kid with an old car is pretty cool and not instantly label me a ricer JUST BECAUSE I AM YOUNG and try to help me out building my car.

when i start winning trophies-and i will-do all you haters like me to mail them to you to shove up your ***

people that say the things you said about his ideas is exactly why young people cant stand old people because no one is open minded if i dont like someones idea i keep my thoughts to myself, oh i forgot you wont have any problem with 17s if you plus size ( and if you use kumo escta supra tires have the best traction for the lack of side wall out there)

I guess I do show a little self expression to my opinion on this forum. I just couldent picture a mustang looking like that. I like origional LOOKING stangs from 64.5- 68 ( i like the 69- 70 power packages ) The 351 and 429 cobrajets. I just think that car is nice the way it is but that is just my opinion. if your fixing it up your the one to make the choices
