Welcome to CHR Mick, have you considered XJ6 Jaguar for the front suspension?
Cheap as chips, (around the Aus$200 - $300 mark,) robust and easy to fit, power steering and disc brakes....a cheap and easy fix.
Just my 2c worth.

'64 A.C. Cobra replica. Ford 429, C6 auto, Torana ifs, Jaguar irs.
