Well since I have a beater 53 ford 3/4 ton pickup I think I could tell you that they were a fairly good front end assembly. Remember that all the old rodders went with the f1's steering gear box because it was easily adjustable and powerful. Ive had my rust bucket on the freeway up to 55mph with no wobble or sway. I couldnt go any faster because when I swapped the mercury flathead into the truck I left in the granny 4sd instead of using the mercurys 3spd with overdrive.

Im not saying dont use a clip, just that there wont really be any ride difference on a truck.
