    Newbie,

I currently have a 66 Rambler 550 Classic 2D. It has the stock 6cyl with the 3speed on the column. However, I have a 360 that an uncle gave me (needs rebuilt), a ford 9", and an turbo 350 tranny that I hope to put in it when I finish my BS in Ecology this spring.

I have always had strong love for classic cars, especially the boxie looking mopars and chevy's from the 60's. I knew that I wouldn't be able to afford any of those cars any time soon so I jumped at the opprotunity to purchase the Rambler for a wopping $500.

I was actually introduced to ramblers by my great aunt who past away this last winter from cancer. She had a strong love for cars. Her 62 Red American Convertible was the envy of all the guests at my wedding in the summer of 2003.

My uncle had bought this car back in the late 60's bacuase it was simply the only car he could afford at the time. At the time he say's that no one wanted the little Rambler becuase the popularity of chevs, mopars, and fords were far exceding that of AMC's. He paid a costly $450 dollars for it. Well, sometime over the years before I was born they wrecked the car. As I grew up around their house the car always sat in the back yard and my aunt always said that she was going to find another one so she could fix hers. Well to make a long story short it was finished months before my wife and I tied the knot and she was exremely thrilled that I wanted that restored old Rambler as my get away car.

That is actually why I purchased the Rambler.

Soon I will have the resources to not only restore an old classic but add my own personal touches and make it a mild hotrod!

    Jason

Welcome to CHR Jason, that Rambler should be a fun build, and certainly will stand out from the crowd!!! Keep us updated on the build.

Here are a few when I purchased her about a year ago!
However, she is still the same. Although I have cleaned her up a bit and got her running good so it didn't just sit.

Here are a couple of Push Rods That I replaced!
I didn't care about the condition of the motor but it is a plus that I can drive it until I get the V8.
