Hello I'm new to this forum - Hot Rod Courier

Hello I'm new to the forum, I am just getting started on a new project truck. It's a 1981 Ford Courier Pickup. I am planning some very radical changes that effect every body panel as well as an entirely new driveline consistining of a Mopar 383 - 727 trans - and a chevy rear axle. There will also be a three tone paint job (yellow, black, red). I was just lurking and decided to join in. I'll do my best to share my experiance with this project as it progresses. My avitar is My concept. - Scott

Welcome Scott. Keep us posted on how it is going. I think your plan sounds great, and I like the look you are wanting to achieve.

Thanks for the support guys, here are some more specific details of my plan.

    The plan is as fallows-

    remove the front clip
    remove the bed
rehang a chevy axle with a four link and coil overs in the rear
bob the back of the frame
build a small box from the old bed to mount between rear wheels
install a gas tank and battery box in the new little bed
chop the top of the cab at least 4" and lay the winshield back
    stretch the cab 3"
section the cab 4" at the belt line
re mount cab further back on frame to make room for engine to sit behind front axle
    install tilt column
build new doors to fit modified cab
fabricate short fenders and hood to dress out the cowl
mount new fuse block and stereo equipment on top of cowl under new hood
mount big block 383 behind front cross member
install 727 transmission with manual valve body
use front of fenders and old hood to fab a radiator shell between front wheels
the engine will be trimmed out in yellow paint and chrome
    the cab will be red
    everything else will be black

This project is basically going to be built using left overs from past projects.
Go ahead and tell me what you think, just don't expect me to change my mind.
