    New member here :)

I have been hanging around a while and thought I'd sign up. I have a small fab shop and do mostly vehicular and some industrial fabrication. I have a few projects of my own, 2 mustangs, a 37 Ford two door sedan, and a 72 F100. I like old motorcycles too.

I have questions sometimes, and sometimes I can answer questions.

My username is taken from an old Lowell George song inspired by a Herman Melville story that I first heard sung by Captain Beefheart on a Frank Zappa bootleg album.....I guess it could be a car thing also.

I hope to be a productive member here.

    Thanks for reading this, Mikey

Hi Mikey, welcome. What kind of auto fabrication do you guys do? I'm sure you will be an asset to the forum, and we're glad you decided to join us.

Captain Beefheart on a Frank Zappa bootleg album
Welcome Mikey - a Beefheart/Zappa fan heh - very interesting.
I'm gonna look for that song, just out of curiosity.

We used to listen to 'We're only in it for the Money' by Zappa in our 'social' circle.

I think we found it more humurous than anything - and the political messages were obvious, inter-twined in some very strange compositions.

    Thanks for the welcome
My shop is a one man operation. Among other things, I do welding, fabrication type machine work, sheetmetal fab, (simple stuff for now), wiring, plumbing of all types, IFS installs, brake, steering and engine swaps, I have a great deal of experience with fiberglass, building one off parts as well as moldmaking and tooling. I quit my regular job in 97 to open my shop. I work on pre 1970 cars and trucks but I prefer pre war stuff.

    Harleys also.

    Thanks for reading this, Mikey

The title of that song is "lightning-rod man"
Look here:http://dmci.com/lowell/lowfactor.html The zappa bootleg I have is called "metal man has hornets wings". An album with no commercial potential, if you know what I mean.
I took some characters out when I made it my username.(to lighten it up for racing )
