another chevy guy
i have been around cars and trucks since i was little. ive mainly built 4x4 trucks, had a nova and a dodge charger once but i sold or parted them for a 4x4 of some sort. when i was younger (i know i know im not that old) i had time to go out and really use these 4x4's i built, but lately i dont use them they just turn into pavement pounders cause i dont have the time to go to the mountains.
well ive always wanted to build an old car and now i have my chance. im buying a 1950 chevy coupe from a guy at work. price still undetermined, but no more than a grand. it needs body work, the original motor and trany is in the trunk. the front clip is set up already to where it tilts forwards. i just dont know if i want to set it up as a gasser or a resto hot rod.
i know one thing, my plans will probably change 50 thousands times lol.
my other trucks are a 1985 chevy blazer thats built. kinda trying to sell it. and a 98 dodge 2500 4x4 cummins diesel.

Welcome to the forum. If you are like most of us, you will change your mind MORE than 50 thousand times. Cars kind of evolve, and sometimes circumstance guides us (for example you might be thinking resto rod, but along comes this cool tube front axle setup, and suddenly GASSER )
Whatever it is, Chevys of this era are cool. Plunk down the cash and jump into the fray. Why should we be the only ones with busted knuckles?
Have fun.

yah the guy im buying it from is a die hard gasser. he hates the cars with chopped tops, low riders, and stuff like that. he says it needs to be like it was back in the day.

You know what I was thinkin' Ken, was that absolutely beautiful Chevy called "Mr. Blue" that was driven by someone at Fairview. I have loved the lines of those cars ever since seeing that one and would love to see one in C/Gas trim.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.
