69 Ford Cortina
Hey, my name's Matt, I'm only 18 so expect some niave questions off me. I'm from England, in the middle of no-where, this being the reason I'm on and American forum looking for help with my ride.
I'm customising a 1969 Ford Cortina, a mk2 Cortina, my inspiration for the rise is ultimatley Hot Rods, but I love the whole Los Angleses scene, i think its super cool, so that is in the back of my head as I customise my car.
I'm self-prepping the car, I'm half way through at the minuet, the car is currently red, but it's going to be black by the start of next year hopefully. My car is awaited by the guys at Bay Area Rods in the south of England, where they are hooking me up with suicide doors and shaving of all of the handles.
Once thats dne, I'l lower it by 60mm, and then put my new wheels on, I just brought Cragar Smoothies, they are 14 by 7's.
Then, it's time to get electirc windows, as the mechanisms in mine are totally rotten.
Then, I'm getting custom door cards with my initials stitched into them, and a custom center consul.
I do want a grill made for me, but I can't find anybody how can do the job, if anyone knows anybody, then please let me know.
After all that, I'll drop a two litre Pinto engine in, fully re-conditioed, chromed, and attatched to a sierra five speed gear box and a sierra braking system, don't really know the spec of that little lot yet though, I haven't done that much research into it.
Hopefully then it will be done, and I'l get myself a Cadillac...
As soon as I figure out how to, I'l post pictures up of the car, so you can see how its all going.
Nice to meet you all.Last edited by 69 Ford Cortina; 08-29-2006 at 12:02 PM.
We were at a buffet meal and the wife said "That's the fourth time you've gone back for dessert, doesn't that embarrass you?" I said "No, I keep telling them it's for you."
