Mk 2, They came out with the 1300 and 1600 OHV engines did'nt they ? Down here we have plenty of the old MK 2's and even many Mk 1's with the sloper bonnets. So you going to shoehorn in the Pinto OHC 2000 or 2300 cc. I re3member years ago, when me and a m8 had a mk 1 Escort, slammed in a 1600 motor and adapted up a diesil turbo to it in a blow throgh configuration to get the curved tube we swiped a stainless J tube from a public toilet washbasin did the job perfectly. To drop the compression ratio we then made up a 3mm thick head gasket out of solid copper and sandwiched it between the head and block,. No wastegate ( whats that !!). Went VERY well,,,, untill we were racing a mercedes down the motorway, she was pulling away nicely and then BANG..... coasted to the breakdown lane, popped the bonnet, and there was the gasket blown clean out of the engine, one half on either side of the block ???

Hey Southerner, Im going for the Pinto OHC 2000, I cant afford the insurance on a 2300, im only a kid and they're charging me a fortune now. It's because other kids keep crashing in their Corsa's I guess. I'll post some picutres up soon, maybe tonight, it looks like a bit of a rat at the minuet, which isn't a band thing, but, it should look hot when its done. Keep an eye out for it.
