    my intro

    Hi all,

I'm a 28yo archaeologist (hence the name) who works for the Army. I recently completed my master's degree in GIS/Remote Sensing. Basically I do a lot of technical stuff with archaeology.

I've been messing around with cars since my first Mustang at age 14. I kind of got out of it through the early college years, but now that I'm out of school, I'm back into cars. My father and I have been working on a couple of projects. Mine a '27 Model T, flathead power, and underslung front suspension (model A rear suspension) with rack and pinion steering. My car is presently in about a thousand pieces as I prep it for paint. In the end it'll be blue with wide whites all around. I haven't decided on what to do with the top yet. A bench seat is in the very near future, the tweed's gotta go.

Dad's is a '36 Ford PU with a Packard 288/Chevy 3spd on a HEAVILY modified Explorer frame. I include it because he's not as technologically inclined as I, so I tend to post about it as well as my car.

I live in Manhattan, KS BTW.

    Thanks,

    chris

Welcome to CHR. Nice looking cars you got there. Great to see a father and son share the same hobbies these days.

I thought all you Archaeologists were stuffy old guys who got their jolly's when evidence of some remote civilization turns up. Never knew "ancient tin" was on that hit list.

Welcome aboard, to you and Dad. It really is nice to see you guys sharing this common love. The cars are neat, and outside the box. I mean that in the best possible way.

Dad's got a fairly "inside the box" '57 Chevy too equiped with a blown L88 427, fast as hell, but I don't have pics of it.

Not all archaeologists are stuffy old men with white beards and wide hats
    just a select few .
