    Cool Not your average newbie...

Well, Im new to this forum. thought I could pick up some good tips from you guys.

I have a 1969 Nissan Patrol KL60. Its hardly a hot rod, but its gonna be fun. That is, as soon as I can make it roadworthy!

I bought it back in April for $100. Its rear suspension and axle was MIA.

Its got a bit of rust, but I love it becauase much like yall's hot rods, its something you dont see every day. In fact, a person would probably be lucky to see one in his/her lifetime. Because of an agreement between Toyota and Nissan, there was only 500 imported to the USA in the 1960's.

From what I had heard Nissan produced a rugged little 4x4 and a roadster about the same time Toyota produced a a rugged little 4x4 and a roadster. So, supposedly, Toyota agreed not to export their roadster to the USA and Nissan agreed not to export its 4x4 to the USA. Yet, somehow 500 of them found their way to U.S. shores. Oddly enough, about the same number of Toyota roadsters found their way to U.S. shores, too...

Parts are about impossible to find. The employees at the local parts stores are tempted to run when they see me coming, cause they know what ever part I have brought in is going to require LOTS of measuring and comparing! LOL

That made it hard to find a rear axle since the rear output on the t-case was offset to the right side. Luckily I found that a 1970 Toyota Landcruiser had a VERY similar axle. I managed to get some leaf springs off of a 76 Chevy K-10. Everything is just about ready to bolt-up, except for the fact that the old bushings in the K-10 springs just wont do. Thats what brought me here.

I made a post asking about bushings in one of your tech forums.

I hope yall dont mind having a 4x4 import guy as a member...

Do you want a pic of my truck or the bushing? Im assuming its the bushing, because beating me on the drag strip wouldnt even be anything worth bragging about...

I really do not like to be called "RICER DUDE"... The reason I bought it is because Jeeps, Land Rovers, and Land Cruisers are just too common around here. I had to have something different...

Not bad for a $100 rig, huh?

Yes, the lawnmower is a piece of junk. I found it in a trash pile. The engine is in perfect running order, and Im gonna put it on my walk-behind!

I would have preferred to have gotten it cheaper. I only bought it to play around in, and to be DIFFERENT.

Oh, she runs. Runs better than my Chevy S-10 as a matter of fact. Only 79,000 miles on the front axle, t-case, and tranny. About 30,000 on the engine.

Dangerous- Well, I really dont know the whereabouts of the stock rear axle. Somewhere near Ryan, OK. As im told.

This new Toyota axle's mileage is unknown, but Im guessing ALOT judging by the wear...

Streets- There really isnt much to list as Im 17 and still in high school...
