    New guy - 53 F350

Just signed up on the board. Started working on a 53 Ford F350 project in the last year. Started out as a 20,000 Mile orginal with a bad motor and pretty decent body. I've just been working on the chassis so far. Swapped in a 14 bolt cab and chassis dually rear, and C30 IFS so far. Next steps are to get the Olds 455 and TH400 mounts made.

Welcome to CHR, Chuck. Sounds like a neat project you have going there. Keep us updated on the progress and some more pics of the Effie.

Welcome to the forums. Nice truck. My 53 F-100 is the same color. On the C30 frame graft is the track width close to the original I beam axle? I know of a 55 F-350 in my area that would make for a great hotrodded welders rig.

Front width is within an inch, so it's a good match. The most complicated part is the way the frame bows in on the C30, on the F350 the rails are straight bumper to bumper. This means one more graft on the way as I add 14 inches of the original frame back onto the front of the C30 piece.

For the rear a 14 bolt cab and chassis dually rear end bolts right in, perches are perfect and so is the width.

I cant wait to see more updates. That is the coolest swap Ive seen in a while. This makes me want to get my F-100 done so I can start on another project. I know where the F-350 is, so now Iv've got to get the donor truck.
