Just stumbled upon the site, figured I'd join to see if I could get some help. I'll guess I'd better tell you something about myself. I'm 19, currently attending college, and am helping my father build a garage to store my latest car, and his stuff. I started out with a 1939 Nash LaFayette 3917. It was given to me by my grandfather upon my birth. It is missing its engine, but I have located the block, and the rest of the car is very solid and intact. I plan to restore it. My next auto was a 1963 C10 long step side with the 283. I haven't done much with it yet. Next I got a 1972 Suburban custom ordered from the factory to tow the largest Airstream made in 1972. I got it a year ago in hopes of turning it into a daily driver. It didn't comply, so I got a 1996 Saturn SC2. Although it is a little four banger, it is American, and it runs reliably. Soon after I purchased it, the Suburban decided it wanted to run, so it now runs like a top. It is currently for sale. My latest acusition is a 1939 Nash Ambassador Six 3928 Street rod. I quote from the e-bay auction I purchased it from,
"THIS PROJECT WAS STARTED WITH MOSTLY NEW PARTS,THE CHASSIS WAS SENT OUT TO BE DONE
THE BODY NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED,IT IS VERY SOLID BUT HAS HOLES ON THE FRONT FLOORS AND RUST ON THE ROCKER PANELS..THE INTERIOR HAS TWO GM BUCKET SEATS WITH THE ORIGINAL DOOR PANELS AND BACK SEAT

HAS THE RUNNING BOARDS WITH IT..MOST OF THE GLASS,ORIGINAL HEADLIGHT COVERS AND HOLDERS,EXTRA GRILL,SOME INTERIOR TRIM

THE ENGINE IS A 351 CLEVELAND WITH THE FOLLOWING PARTS:MALLORY DISTRIBUTOR,HOLLEY CARB LIST 1950,EDELBROCK F351 ALUMINUM INTAKE,MALLORY WIRES,WAS TOLD IT HAS A PAW ENGINE KIT,NEW CRANK,NEW RODS, NEW PISTONS,BORED OVER,9133M SUPER STOCK CAM,RING BEARING ,TIMING CHAIN ETC..DO NOT KNOW IF IT IS A 4 BOLT OR 2 BOLT BLOCK BECAUSE I HAVE NOT SEEN THE INSIDE OF THE ENGINE.WAS TOLD IT WAS A 4 BOLT..BUT I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO TELL FROM THE OUTSIDE>p>HAS NEW ELECTRIC FAN,HEADERS.POWER BRAKES,ALL NEW BRAKE SYSTEM.

THE CHASSIS HAS A MUSTANG 2 TYPE FRONT END,MUSTANG 9 INCH REAR END 3.50,C6 TRANS,GM TILT,NEW ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP,RACK AND PINION STEERING,NEW REAR LEAF SPRINGS,SHOCKS,NEW AFTER MARKET GAUGES,BATTERY IN THE TRUNK

IT HAS A CLEAR TITLE

IT WOULD BE WISE TO LOOK AT THIS CAR BEFORE BIDDING BECAUSE IT NEED A LOT OF WORK AND SOME OF THE WORK SHOULD BE REDONE..

THIS CAR DOES RUN AND GOES DOWN THE ROAD I DROVE IT BUT IT SHOULD NOT BE ,1939 NASH VIN R3333245 CLEAR TITLE,,WARNING THIS CAR NEEDS A LOT OF WORK,,A LOT OF MONEY WAS SPENT BUT NEEDS MORE"

Now I don't know how much that engine is worth, but I've been told around $2000 in good condition. The engine has trouble starting and running. It seems sluggish on starting, but that may be due to the battery being in the back. As for running, it floods out, and to drive it down the road, we had to prop open the 3&4th barrels on the carb. I don't know if it sat until the gas turned to varnish in the carb, or what. Maybe one of you who knows Fords can tell me. This is my current project, and I am not working on the other ones right now. I am trying to do the work myself so as not to put my education in jeopardy. Any help or leads on parts for 1939 or 1940 Nashes would be appreciated. Thanks, Matthew
