    NEWBIE hot rodder

    Hello,
My name is Ron and I live in East Tennessee. I quess you could say I'm a country boy with country roots. Work hard and play hard. My little truck was purchased at high risk on ebay. But I got lucky and the truck turned out to be right on the money for the listing. Not a show truck. A daily ride with hide burning power. 1986 s-10 plain jane reg cab. Transplanted GMPP 350\300hp. TH350 stock rear. 81 camaro alum. intake. 1406 Edelbrock. Headman Headers. Griffin rad. Elec. pusher fan. Corvette rallies. I'm 30 sumthin'. Have always loved muscle cars. V-8's and anything that could produce blinding tire smoke. I dont have a lot of mechanical experience (learning). Here to spread the joy of horsepower, torque, CID, chrome, and to complain about the price of high octane fuel.
Thats my story, and I'm stickin' to it.

Welcome to CHR, S-10. How about posting some pictures of your pickup??? Sounds like a fun cruizer. There are a few others on the forum with similar setups, I'm sure they'll be around later.

Hi Ron Welcome to CHR. Post some pictures of your truck. Sounds like a screamer.
Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

Looks good, but the air cleaner is too small. You need at least 100 square inches of filter area to let the motor breathe.

Hey Tech, I have a question,

Can you see the intake bolts in the picture well enough to tell if I wanted to change intakes could I use pre-87 types or do I have to use the 87-up? I have been told by folks that havent seen the engine that I would have to use the 87-up since it was a GMPP ordered in 93? I get confused when they start talking about the angle on those bolts in the middle. The intake by the way is from an early 80's Camaro. I dont know if it was modified for these heads or not. Is this making sense?

Yes, I will be getting a larger cleaner. Whadoyou think, 14" or larger?
