i have added advantage of a workmate who is the crew chief/designer/builder of this BEAST to chat too and pester about all sorts so it helps

next plan is to tig weld up the chassis joints so far as there is a 5 degree cut at the bulkhead and get the gas out and start heating/curving my rails in a bit of a taper
Anybody can restore a classic, takes a man to cut one up.....
love the comments above - UK rodders seem to be majority purists although not my thing i think really (they are good) just i'm looking forward to mixing in a bit of modern stuff to my TOY

if it had been steel it would have been a rat-rod but mrs says she wants a engine on show to GLOW so painted/polished it is - but for sure it will be driven - DAILY i hope as well
