I have a glass replica 27 ford model T roadster body and buidling a self made frame and using a rover V8 3.5l (buick) auto and sort of everything else being begged borrowed and made up as i go along

apologies to the purists for not having correct model grille or lamps or susp style this n that in the future - just too expensive and time consuming so for my first go I'm doing it as said - "making it up as i go along"

I'm collecting parts for an Olds 215 (Buick 215/Rover 3.5 variant) powered roadster. I'd like to build a 26/27 turtle deck roadster but the are a tad tight for me. So I'm thinking modified with a stretched cockpit. In any case, you are ahead of me and I'll be interested in seeing what you come up with. I don't want to copy you. I just want to avoid you mistakes! :LOL:

Don't wory about having the right "bits." Real hot rodding is all about using the wrong stuff to build something that is kick ass, if you know what I mean.:3dSMILE: **)

Welcome to CHR, Flapper. Should be a nice cruizer. Hot rodding isn't a matter of having all the right parts, it's a matter of using what you can get to build what you want. No apologies necessary, not many purists here, anyhow !!!! Keep us updated on your build, sounds way kewl.

i have added advantage of a workmate who is the crew chief/designer/builder of this BEAST to chat too and pester about all sorts so it helps :)

next plan is to tig weld up the chassis joints so far as there is a 5 degree cut at the bulkhead and get the gas out and start heating/curving my rails in a bit of a taper

love the comments above - UK rodders seem to be majority purists although not my thing i think really (they are good) just i'm looking forward to mixing in a bit of modern stuff to my TOY :)

if it had been steel it would have been a rat-rod but mrs says she wants a engine on show to GLOW so painted/polished it is - but for sure it will be driven - DAILY i hope as well

Welcome to the Club. I built a 27 T roadster a number of years ago. It was a great learning project. I did alot of things to that car that everyone said couldn't be done, like cross steering with a 32 I-beam front axle, cruise control. When I finally got it to the point I felt it was done, someone came along and offered me way too much money for it and it was sold. I have to do some digging, but I know I have some pictures of it with the removable roof on it. It was one of those roofs that you either drove with it on, or you left it home. That was the only car I built that didn't have a nitrous kit on it.

but after reading this lot - IM INSPIRED :):)

been out the tonite and stripped the inlet off and started milling it down for a 4 barrel plate to weld on it :toocool:
