Hey, Y'all... another Noob, here.
Just a quick "hey" from Spartanburg, SC.
I've got a "sleeper" '90 GMC Sierra 1500, so it doesn't really qualify as a hot rod. No body mods, but I replaced the stock 4.3L with a "mildly enhanced" 5.7L. Ran pretty good for 10K miles, then I dropped a valve. Stumbled onto this forum while searching for possible solutions and replacements, etc.
More to come, as I find my way around these forums.
Later!

Thanks for the welcoming replies... now, for my next trick... I'll try to figure out how to post a pic of the truck.
btw... Has anybody here done a swap from stock 350 sbc heads to vortec? Or should I post that in another forum?
ahhh... i see it now... the "Engine Talk" forum looks like the next stop.
Another question, I was told this engine takes 6 quarts of oil. Is that correct? It's a remanufactured 350 with stock pan.
