    Talking hello

hi everyone, ive just joined the site here and thought i'd say hi, im chris, i live in the uk and recently purchased a 69 thunderbird 2 door hardtop coupe. she has the 429 thunderjet block in her , has the power seats and windows. black leather bucket seats - interior is mint. im looking to customise her a bit but am having trouble gettin info on what i can do to the engine, it doesnt seem to be a popular engine to tune up. does anyone have any ideas of what i could do to get some grunt out of her, she has an auto gearbox in her at the moment but if i can i may put a manule one in one day if it helps with the tuning. i dont know a lot about these engines as the most common engines tuned here in the uk are usually 2 litre 16valve's which are totally different. i want to get some real power out of her but keep her road legal. any ideas. i have some pics of her on a website heres the link if you want to have a look at her. my t-bird

Great looking T-Bird you have, Chris. Someone has really taken care of that one!!!! Many of the external parts for the 460 are interchangeable with the 429, intake manifold, distributor, etc. The heads are also, but the 429 of that vintage probably allready has some very good heads on it. If the casting number on them is DOVE, they are about the best factory head made. Lots of 429/460 folks here on CHR, I'm sure they will be along to offer some advice. Welcome to CHR, hope you enjoy your time here.
