Sorry couldn't resist that one.

Welcome to CHR.
390's are pretty easy to come by and you can get some decent power out of them for a small investment plus parts are easy to find.

well ok i should've figured someone would have awise crack but what the heck right its all part of being the new "guy" on the block i guess and sorry to dissapoint anybody by saying kid but i was allways told your only as old as you feel and i feel like im 16 but in realality im 37 going on 16 so as far as the 390 goes i had one in there and ill just say 400 ponies wasnt enough to satisfy me thats why i yanked it for parts around here are scarce to make a 410 is what i wanted to do but instead i sold it and am looking at a 460 but i got to go check it out and ill keep u guys informed and hopefully ill get a picture of my ol ford to show you all here soon.

Welcome Carbuff,,,,I also have an 89 F150,,it's a 4X4 ext cab, 300cube six,,,and it's one fine truck,,,but it does like some TLC now and again.
As to your 64 Galaxie,,,another one of my old time favourites,,,,,,i'd suggest getting a 390 out of an old 1960'sThunderbird,,,or a 428 out of a 68 Thunderbird,,,,eats alot of gas,,but they sure are fun.Last edited by Thunderbucket; 03-22-2005 at 02:28 PM.

Welcome, Carbuff. Always room for a few more Blue Oval Guys around here, we are terribly outnumbered. Hey, I used to drag race in Kearney, do they still have a track there???Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

hey dave there sure do they will start racing in about 3 or 4 more weeks and its a blast, so any one else from around here in central nebraska, and while im thinking about it does anyone here ever seen a 460 with a power steering pump on the crankshaft in the same place you would find a harmonic balancer im beginning to think that this didnt come out of a lincoln and maybe it came out of a truck instead anyone know casting # on the block is c9ve-b.
My wife told me the kitten needs to be chipped. I had only a 9 iron but I still got it over the shed.
