    New too

    Hello all,
New to the site... Came across it screwing around on the net and mannaged to post the 40 with out reading the "read this first" Felt stupid, but I am a newbie so hope y'all can deal with it. Personally only had one rod in my life (the 40 merc), but indirectly owned a few that passed by our dealership . I am looking for something new to build. I am a sucker for 49 mercs and yes I will build a flathead for it, and no I don't think a crate 350 is what I should dump in it. I grew up tuning rice burners and jacked up trucks, racing motorcross and flying small aircraft. Getting older now and I have a young son.....Seems building my own ratrod or custom is in the near future. I don't have alot of time to post, but when I can lend a hand, I will do my best. I am still at least a year or so away from picking up (yet another) project, but I will be watching the site. I would love to hear from the oldtimers that played with these cars back in the day. I have had many great conversations with guys that built Hudson Hornets and Mercs, buckets and shoeboxes...... I enjoy ever minute. I am a true diehard car guy and got into the business because I love the cars....all cars really, and more than the cars I love the people I have met. Any of you guys in the neighborhood who need a hook up on parts, bodywork, or interior, just let me know. Maybe I'll see you around at the local shows in the midwest. I am allways on the computer. Thanks, and I look forward to becoming a member in good standing of this site!
