Road Agent; I don't know if this is the same problem, but back in the late 70's early 80's some of the fords had a problem that sounds alot like yours. The car would run fine, then cut out and quit running, no spark. Mechanics had a heck of a time trying to figure out what was wrong. What it ended up was the brain, So after it got some age on it and got a little hot they would cut out. So when people started having the same problems and would come in complaining, What we did was take a hair dryer put it on high heat and blow it on the brain or computer box with the car running. If the car cut out they had a bad brain and we would replace it. hope this will help you.
