I pulled my sant six out and bulit a 318 .30 over with 273 heads, cam intake @ 1.5 420 duration 262 exhaust 442 duration 272 . I had the heads cut .30 off took all new valves seats, guides, springs, seals and disgarded rotators (trash). The works on the block. The rods stock but ground off casting and balance pads, matched in weight and cut for free floating pins. Flat top Hyperplumatic pistons sealed power corme moly rings too. The crank took .10 and the casting gorung off also. Double roller timing chain with advance key cut outs set at 8deg advance. At the shop i took a hand grinder and took off casting in the lifter galley for oil return. installed a hv oil pump but removed because pressure was too high, so i went back to stock pump. After all that stock 2bbl intake and carb. points dist .

Now i have a 4bbl intake and # 4100 series carb on it. still no headers but true duel ex. Runs the wheels off that old trk.and is a real sleeper with stock wheels and grandpa's hub caps. lol !

With the stock carb and intake the truck was fun a 140 mph! I was driving home one day and a mustang flew by me and i could not allow that! soo....... Lets just say that he was going over a hunded when he passed me and was 100 feet ahead me and i dropped those secondarys and flew by him. Of course he was a little faster than me from a stand still mabye but my 3.91 gears where screaming, but he could not out run the mighty LONG BED D100 323 CU IN GRANDPA TRUCK !!! I was 6 feet behind him and was laughing my ass off !

write me back and ill tell you some more

Well im "running" a 318 727 in my 24 dodge roadster. The whole things down to bits and pieces again because I built it on a model a frame and there about a foot too short and 6 inches too narrow. So now ive pulled the rails apart and am going to add a section and step the frame as well as channel the whole thing about four inches. Im going to make the new wider members myself.

Ive recently been given hell for not running front brakes on it, the front end is 40 ford but those are over 300 to rebuild and I figure the dodge rearend has enough breaking power for something this light.
