I've got a friend with a boat that has 2 Chrysler 440's with AFB's and mechanical advance points distributors. We would like to upgrade to electronic ignition and are looking at the Mopar's electronic distrib for a little over $150 each. The only problem is that they are vacuum advance. So, the question is, where would I hook up the vacuum advance on a Carter AFB? Or, would I be better off running without vacuum advance? Though, in a boat it may be important as driving a boat in water is like driving a truck up a 20% grade all of the time.
