New Style stroker Hemi's
These links are from engine builder for a stroker new style hemi's:
http://www.enginebuildermag.com/Arti...i_stroker.aspx
http://www.enginebuildermag.com/Arti...odel_hemi.aspx
The cool thing about these engines is as they become older, the source will become greater threw crashes found in junk yards. The link above states they had to look for awhile, but found a suitable engine for $500.00.They also said strokers could be built to 392 size and the 426 size engine depending on which block size you started with.
So Mopar guys hope you enjoy the read. It's a good read.Good Bye

I don't claim to be a MOPAR guy, but the articles are indeed a very good read - lots of great information in that first one about the parts & pieces used. Thanks for posting the links.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

I only read part of the artical,
We have an order in with the core guy for some long block cores and some bare blocks--right now seems most of there availability is being sold as long blocks(PRICY) to rebuilders and there aren't many just core blocks--We stock several Callies crank assy for various combos and are working up the specs for some shelf set ups that hopefully be popular-----the aftermarket for lots of the STUFF is sparse as to oil pans, cylinder heads, manifolds so it will probably take a few years for these engines to appear as retro( read that as in a rod without a engine cover and blue lights)

yep thank for the heads up on this gary. around here good running hi mile new chevy they get a 1000+.with core .have to look in to a hemi then add all parts that push this build to big bucks crank .pistons .rods plus build. around here is 50to 1 so 50 chevys to one mopar . if i could get cores dirt cheap i would think about doing some short blocks .just looks like alot of over head to test the waters. chevys sell like hot cakes and many parts to pick from not so much on the moparIrish Diplomacy ..the ability to tell someone to go to Hell ,,So that they will look forward to to the trip

I do think the point of the links is a the cost of a crate old style 426 hemi vs a build of the newer style which would be cheaper. And given the fact they came out in what 03,the availability over time is going to get cheaper with crashed P/U's found in junk yards. It's projecting into the future with a expectation the rebuild able engines becoming better. The focus of Engine builder is towards guys in the business. So this could be viewed as additional business opportunities and for Mopar end users to make them aware they can save money and still have a Hemi. Also a Hemi with improved heads.
Please do view the dyno results on the last page.It does seem these are not any dogs.Good Bye

at least 50 to 1 on chevy/mopar---think we done more AMC this year than Mopar
with a little time out of the shop over the holidays, looks like UPS or Fedex out there, and then there are all the Callies, Scat crankshafts-----

Seems Jerry and I posted at the same time. Please do read the post above his.....
I am a Chevy guy.I know that Chevy's cost less to build.I also know that the older Hemi's cost a fortune to build. Here is a chance to the Mopar guys to have it their way cheaper.Last edited by 1gary; 12-27-2010 at 10:10 AM.
Good Bye
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
