    Price for T bucket Project

    Ok,

I have a friend selling a 23 T bucket project. I have lots of projects going, but I think this one might be to good to pass up. It has the body painted(I hate the color). Chrome front axle, chevy truck rear, Camaro front rotors, no brakes installed. 85 Camaro 305 installed with th350. Hasn't been touched in many years. New MT 12 tires on the rear and 3 inch on the front. 1960's chevy slot wheels, bad shape. Without ppics, what do you think this project is worth?

I know without photos, it will be hard to give a ballpark, but I don't have any. maybe a little better description will help. It was a kit that had to have all the fabrication done, no motor mounts... He got it as a failed project himself. Someone did a good job of building mounts. They look good. I will have to take the body back off and re do it. The frame will need to be stripped and painted. Don't know the status of the rear end except it is from a late 60's pickup. The engine is filthy and just a core. No idea about the trans. I have a 327 with a th350 that I know and are already detailed and ready to install, so I am not including muc for the current motor and trans. This is basically a rolling frame with the tub installed and the PU box in the tub. It does have steering installed, but I don't know what it is. Doesn't look familiar. It has been shoved in the corner for years. The chrome front end has lots of rust on the chrome. Oh yeah, the previous owner started making break caliper mounting brackets, he mostly finished the right front except the caliper mounting holes. The left side is just cut to shape with no holes in it. Most of these kits had some plans or instructions, but they are missing from this project.

Sound's like theres a lot of redo work involved, might be easier and cheaper to get the $3995 kit from total performance, you'd have a good ready done frame with 9" ford housing installed, body and a few other odds and ends it comes with like sbc mounts ready put in, that would get you to where you would be with the 1 your friend has except with more parts you know what are unlike the steering box your unshure of.

Thanks guys, It looks like I will pick it up right. Will a 27 glass body fit on this 23 frame, of is there a turtle option for the 23?

    Thanks,

    Doug

    I don't think that a 27 body will fit a 23 frame

I guess your right, I checked www.tbuckets.com and it said the '27 holds most of it's desine to a model A chassie. I had always thought only the body differed but I learn somthing new every day.
