    need your opinion

ive been a member now for a couple of months or so. i rarely post a thread. i mostlly read others and find it to be very interesting and informative. about a year ago i started a frame off on a 81 malibu. it was fairly quick to begin with but i wanted a little more. plans were made to drop a 502 500hp crate.everything was set. i stopped and sold in the middle of this project. in my youth i have had chevelles camaros and even a couple of mustangs . i like all muscle cars. however as a teenager i had the privilage of having a friend with a 69 roadrunner 440-6pack. my feelings about this car are glued to my mind. the car was in black primer with a scoop. a big boxy car with no carpets am radio 2 buckets and had this look about it. this was a car put on the road with only one purpose. i have looked at a couple for sale mostly 383. im leaning more towards 440 i would certianly consider a 426. this is where i will listen to any and all opinions.................thanks........383 vs 440magnum vs 440 6 pack vs hemi.................for street

To add to Richard's comment, you can do an engine like he described for $3500 ball park. A good 426 hemi all dressed out will run you around $18,000 (NO, not a misprint!). Your choice.

BTW, in the day, a stock 440/6 pack would run wheel to wheel with a stock street hemi, sometimes better depending on tune and driver.

It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
