I would look for a complete car to get a motor and trans,those years of fords are prone to serious frame rust and a complete car can be found cheap. If yours does not have a motor or trans in it now a parts car would get you all the little stuff that is missing in one shot,you will be able to use about everything from up to a 1970 galaxie and maybe up to 72 as they share basicly the same frames and firewalls. You can bolt a 429 or 460 in a 65 by using the mounts from a 70 to 72 big merc or ford that originally came with a 429 and I know where three of them are in local junkyards with the mounts still in them. I could set you up with the 352 and auto trans from my 65 custom 500 if I dont find a truck to put it in,it runs good and the trans looks like it has been rebuilt,I might trade the 352 and trans along with other parts needed to install it in your 65 for a good 302 with a manaul trans flywheel bellhousing and clutch parts and a 5 speed from a 80s mustang.
