    For Arguments Sake....Cartrucks

Hey, its been a long while since I've posted in here, just an update, I am currently doing Aircraft Structural Repair in college, but my Hot Rod dreams are still alive and well, just all in do time I guess. Well my current issue right now is just for arguments sake. concerning those car truck vehicles...one drove down the road the other day, and I assumed it was the Ford Ranchero...but this know it all guy says.."no your wrong man, thats a Cavaliero...." Now hearing this and knowing the guy I just let it be, and figured I would do my research when I got home. Well I searched everywhere and couldn't find anything called a cavaliero.. the only car trucks I know of were the Chevy El Camino/Ford Ranchero/and I believe its called the Dodge Rampage? now if I am missing any please correct me. And if anybody can fil me in on the Cavaliero please do so as well. Thanks.

    Hi Snows.
There's no such thing as a Cavaliero. I think he was trying to be a know-it-all. He probably meant to say El Camino but couldn't remember how to say it. A guy who can't pronounce El Camino wouldn't know one from a Ranchero so you were probably right.

    Hi,
I'm new but being one of the "old " fellas, maybe he knew the truck and if it was a Ford Ranchero "but" Chevy powered. Thats why he referred to it as a "Cavaliero" (Chevy powered Ford).

    ;-)

    Just my thoughts.

Or maybe it was a Cavalier wagon that was cut down into some kinda El Camino replica.

My first thought was the same as Al's idea about a modified Cavalier. Or that could have been his name and he bestowed it on a homemade creation of some sort.

But just to show that there's more than one way to get anywhere, here's a picture of a Suzuki Cavaliero (Australian market).

It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.

I think the GMC version of the early eighties El Camino was called the "CABALLERO". Maybe that's the varmint you saw, and that guy was referring to.

the original GMC version of the ElCamino was the GMC Sprint. Than in 1978 the GMC became the Caballero. I use to have an 86 Caballero

My father and I looked at a '87 Cabellaro w/305 auto. 118,000k and a worn out 2bbl and torn interior, cracked dash with tape holding it togther and a little body rot ( 1 spot ) and surface rust with bent tailgait that woulden't shut. Started real hard but actully ran good but, he wanted 3,000 for it and we didn't belive it was worth it.
