I usually see generators at swap meets ranging from $5 for used ones to $50 for new or rebuilt ones still in the box. There's not a lot of people looking for them. I've never seen a good chrome one for sale though. I'm not sure if the chromed covers are still available. You might have to make your own out of a thin sheet of polished stainless.
