    48 Chevy Pics

I was wondering if anyone had pics of a 48-53 CHevy 1/2 ton pickup with a newer 90-98 bed on it (step side or fleet side)or the newest style chevy bed on it? I am trying to line up a 48 right now and have heard about poeple doing this and am curious as to what it will look like. It might save me alot of work on an old rusted out bed. I plan on hot rodding it and probobly won't put the wooden bed back in anyways.
    Thanks

HEY WAD: I have an orginal 1948 Chevy 1/2 ton for sale. I see a lot of them on S 10 frames with newer beds. I guess it is what look you want the bed to have, some are have much more rounded curved fenders than others. The nice thing about old Chevy pickup's is that you can buy every part, nut bolt and screw for those trucks. I just back from NSRA Street Rod Nationals in Louisville and those old trucks were the most common vehicle there. Some where really tricked...............DAVE

Dave I just got back from the NSRA Nationals as well, I am lucky and only live about 40 minutes south of Louisville so I go every year. There were some awesome 48's up there!!
What kind of shape and how much do you want for the truck you are selling? I am really looking for a project truck to work on for a while so as long as it is restorable I would probobly be intersted!!
I will end up sort of doing the rat rod look. Well what I mean is it will be flat black and have wide white walls nothing else about it will be ratty. I will put new brakes all around, have all of the rust and every thing taken care of . I have read alot about people around here saying that rat rods are unsafe, mine will be as safe as possible with that rat look.

Wademp - I will post a picture in about three more weeks when I get my 94 bed mounted.
It's narrowed 13" so the original narrowed fenders can be mounted. It has 64 Caddy tail fins w/tail lights mounted to the bed. The cab top is chopped & the doors are lengthened 3"(Uncle Bob made me do it)
