    Holley Carb

I have a Holley 800 C.F.M. Spreadbore carb . It is a model 4165 Carb No. 6710, it has mechanical secondaries. The previous owner ripped the choke out and the thing run's rough. I haven't torn into it yet but believe the power valve is blown .The carb really pop's before the engine warm's up and is very rich. Does anyone have any experience with thes carbs? I am thinking about boning the carb and getting a 3310 . It will be going on a 70 454 , 425 H.P. Big block. Any input would be greatly appreciated.I don't even know what size the jet's are yet.Just bought the car last week.

You will like a 3310 a lot better than the spread bore. Holley has had problems with them since day one. Bad o-ring seals on the acc pump internal passages, power valves and gasket problems. The 3310 is bullet proof and a time tested durable carb..

    Holley Carb

Thank's for the help . I think I will go with the 3310 Holley . I might even change it to a 4150 with jet's in the rear. I also will go with an electric choke . I alway's had good luck with them. Thank's again.
