This is not uncommon, especially now. All Lincoln cars are built in Ford's Wixom assembly plant. For a while, GM was building cars based on three platforms at the Poletown plant in Detroit. Starting this fall, the Mazda Flatrock plant will be building the Mazda 6, Lincoln Zephyr, Ford ? (was the Futura) and the Ford MUSTANG.
