Just a word of caution for you, Steve...... When my thought processes and the progression of logical ideas starts making sense to you......you may want to consider scheduling an appointment with a local shrink!!!!!!

New wires on now with better fit but still dont have the stock retainers for the V covers . Once i get all the 37 stuff off the hood and find it some storage space it wont happen soon . Though back in the 80's or so didn't Chevy have a blue engine also .

Here is some Ford blue also .

Yeah, but if we admitted it was a chebbie blue engine, what would we pick on Steve about?????

PS--I think he should buy my pickup, then I could deliver it and have a good excuse to go west and warm up!!!!!!!

Looks good, Bobby. Man, that GM blue really does look the same as Ford blue, doesn't it? I was thinking the Ford was a lot darker.

    Very slick, Tom!
I got a few good days in; got my motor mounts and crossmember made and tacked it. On the crossmember I cut some 1/4 steel plate, welded some bolts to it and drilled some holes in the floor board for the bolts to come through. Then I bolted the crossmember in from underneath. The plates should support it, I think. the crossmember is made from 3/8 steel bar; it was a door actuator arm from a freight elevator. Also started patching the firewall and tunnel back it. the firewall center is recessed back 6" for clearance and I'm using 16 gauge to build the tunnnel.

I tried ram horn manifolds but no go. I ordered a set of Speedway block hugger headers, we'll see what happens when they get here.

I haven't put a lot into this part yet but i did think that the ram horns were shorter then block huggers at the exhaust collector . I have looked about for some ram type for the sbf locally and cheap since i don't know if i would like the look of them .

I'm not too well informed on what Ford offers, Bobby. Somebody mentioned Sandersons; they probably make something but they're a little pricier than plain jane headers. Good news, I got the Speedway blockhuggers in the mail yesterday and it looks like they're going to do the trick after some slight modification. $59.00, you cant go wrong.

Cheap enough at $59 when it says Ford it still pricey . So far $100 plus for what I have found been looking at the swaps but mostly Chevy stuff at all of them its so popular .

Trans tunnel is about 95% done except for around the steering column; I need to work out the steering shaft/exhaust clearance but it's getting there. I trashed the old steering shaft idea and bought a shaft and a couple u-joints from Speedway so i can have a smaller diameter shaft. It's better but not there yet. As soon as it's right I'll pull the motor back out, finish weld the mounts and firewall, and paint the engine compartment. I also had to raise the shifter an inch to clear the trans but it's finished and working.
