Ratrod potential
I discovered this model T, I guess thats what it is while riding my atv at my families farm. The motor, front cowl and frame is entact. I would say it has been there for 20 plus years. The frame looks to be in pretty good condition, but I am a rookie to this so I really appreciate any help. I am hoping to convert into a ratrod, just the bare essentials to be legal. So, what do you guys think>

Well one thing i didn't remember is the gas peddle assy should have been bolted to firewall before engine was in . Geez did i have a time wriggling it back into position . Rads in and I forgot the shroud so fan will have to come off again to get it in .
Getting new rad hoses this morn and need to get the oil primer won't be long to put a battery in it .

Getting real close and i'm gettin nervous trying to make sure all the ABC's are getting done . I have to hook up trans lines is all then do all the fluids . Just got info from Jerry to make a oil primer tool and made that . I used some good engine assembly lube but its been sittin about 4 years .
Wire loom getting plugged in the very last . Don't want temptation lurking about rolling it over LOL .

Well trans lines done but while under car i looked over and uuummm no power steering lines . Got em cleaned and started putting them on 2 little 6 inch lines Pi##ing me off just not lining up had to quit for the day . Attack them fresh in the morning right after coffee .

Thats a great time getting close to hearing it run. It is looking good Bobby, don't worry I am sure you did everything right. Having to pull it out is a drag but all part of it. It's all great fun, good luck!

Starved for attention right now, I have been working 2 jobs but finished the second today so tomorrow the car. I had the hood cable break at the last show I went to and haven't gotten the hood open yet. 48's are so inclosed around the hood mechanism, it's tough to get too.

I bet i had one break on a old 83 Skylark took a day to configure my arm thru evrything to get it to release . Hope it goes easier for you and its up in a short .

Well update had it spitting this afternoon i think i'm a tooth off . Had to put a theft wire on it and screw driver across the solenoid . Really hard to do and turn distributer with wrong hand .
Had electrical trouble heavy load when connecting negative to batt. Well after unplugging the only four connectors to the dash area still had it . Culprit was in the alternator loom once disconnected no more load . Something must have gotten inside or loom , where one pin broke off , i ordered a new alt loom might need the alternotor also .

Hey Bobby, did ya get it running today???
I have to take the weekend off on the truck and get the hood and body smoothed and painted for the vintage race car some friends have restored... It's scheduled to make it's debut on the 27th!!!!

Just pulled in from Florida. A 15 hour straight drive in a minivan with 4 teenagers and way too much luggage. Great time but man, I'm beat. Hey Bobby, is the Stang runnin yet?

Yeppers first time in 11 years . She smoked out the garage and set off a smoke detector in the hall LOL. Rebuilt the carb hog washed it 90 psi to it and still a small piece of crud got into a jet only feeding one side .
Also i wired it wrong looked at firing order on intake and the dust and paint made the 3 look like a 8 so after a couple times of scatching my head i got out the manual thinking i may have to readjust valves . Thats when i seen the firing order in the book and said D##N thats what it is . Tearing apart carb and cleaning again in the morning should get it to idle then .
Oh and had the old exhaust stashed out in the shed . D##n mice ruined some perfectly good 8 track tapes and other stuff . This is what blew out of muffler when it fired LOL.
Teflon was allready there

Bobby, did you pre oil it before you tried to fire? My 454 in my truck has been sitting for 4 or 5 years now. I think the gas tank was plugged up; it would run as long as I had gas in the carb. I put a new pump on it and even primed it, which in all of the years of putting fuel pumps on I never had to do that. Time has gotten away from me but I want to get it started and maybe put it in my 50 ford.
