Not being very familar with glass body work, I am thinking the race body is lighter? Good looking car, I would love to build one for the wife to drive, how hammered is the top? 3 inches? Very cool Dave, your going to have a real sweetheart when she's done."Sunshine, a street rod and a winding beautiful Ozarks road is truely Bliss!"

The race body is much lighter. Not steel supports in the door jams or doors, none on the sides or truck. Just glass that will be attached to the cage and frame. Can't do it this way on the street, the vibration and pot holes would kill it.
On the street cars, 3" chop, reworked fenderwells, reworked back window, and numerous other small changes... I have lots of work to do on the molds as well as the other 2 cars then maybe I can start on the race weight body.... Giving some thought to buyin some Kevlar matte to use on the front clip, makes it much stronger and would cut down on the amount of bracing required.... Just very expensive to buy the kevlar!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

"Is it possible I have the wrong balancer on there?"
Could be. There are actually 3 different timing locations for small block Chevys, 12:00, 2:00 and 2:30. Scroll down this list to the SBC and take a look......

I'm actually getting some work done on the truck lately. I'm working on the headers right now. I need to get the exhaust pipes done before I finish the fuel lines and mount the filter. Then I can bolt on the radiator and light a fire in this new engine.

Thanks Tech, I will check that out tomorrow. It looks to me that my late 70's 350 could be 12:00 or 2:00. I'm not sure which way to read it. There are several of that era in there. If it's twelve I have the wrong water pump (short) to be able to look through to see the mark with the light."Sunshine, a street rod and a winding beautiful Ozarks road is truely Bliss!"

Brick did you try the ear tune and not the light . I did this on most my old chevys .
Dave you know you are welcome to just down here and paint just one im old also and I'll do the sand and buff . Team work has allways been a good venue.
Wheels i found in Arizona from a member here came in . There from a mid
90s Explorer - Ranger 15x7 but the style i do like and they placed the tires under fender where i wanted them . Picked up a couple rear junk yard rubbers 28 inches tall they pressed them $20 beat the tire stores by $30 for used pressed. I.m getting a better feel of the wheel well fit and and stance im looking for . There a little wore but will be painting them the 2 tone colors I plan for the Model A . Have to stop back and get 2 put on the front to make it a bit more complete .

Dave there's no sneeking a early one in on you is there.
You know i was hoping to have paint on it by fall . Realization is it does take alot of planning to build a hot rod. Locating the parts for the serpentine system is taking some time out of it. I placed engine mounts for original set up and i have to cut them loose now and move them forward , which is a good thing for the firewall. Would have been nice if the idea came to mind before i went this far . I did figure the 5.0 were plentifull in this configuration but haven't seen them in a yard here yet . Longest run on them were in the cougar t-bird from 88 to 92 .
With the short timing cover i lost the mechanical fuel pump and will have to go electric. The thought of saddle tanks means twin pumps and i dont think i want that much clutter on rails . Now im planning maybe a tank behind rear seat and the added weight of a good secure structure to protect it will have to be done.

I bought some serpentine pulleys for my pickup on eBay, only like $80!! I'll see if I can find you a link for them. Had to add some spacers to my alternator. Not sure how they would work with the short cover and water pump setup.....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Dave thanks i did locate the water pump and crank pulley . Im searching now for alternator and bracketry and a/c comp and bracketry . The short water pump style serpentine drive does seem elusive.
The last couple of weeks have been spent waiting on parts and getting the engine ready to put in the car. I found a manifold (turned out the guy I bought the center sump oil pan from had one). It’s...
