    Anyone heard of the Electrocharger?

I saw this at SEMA last year and now on the web. www.alphamaleperformance.com Has anyone seen or heard anything about these? It looks to me like a new type of supercharger.

Gee, I wonder if this Van Steenberg snake voted in the "Scam Poll" on the home page.

Thanks Bill. See, politics we can abide in an adult fashion.............it's self serving liars we abhor.

Way to go mrmustang, we sleep better knowing you guys are watching out for us, his product got me remembering the bilge blowers showing up on e-bay as electric blowers for cars or bikes, they made about the same claims

    Apology

I apologize for the deception I caused anyone. I never meant to deceive anyone, just start an intelligent conversation about new technology. I started this company last October and I am interested in everyone's opinions good or bad. Please accept my apology as I have a learned a valuable lesson.

    Sincerely,

    Michael Van Steenburg

    Per his site from FAQ:

    Q. Is the Electrocharger™ a performance upgrade?

    A. Yes, it decreases your 0-60 time by a minimum of 3 seconds and sheds at least 3 seconds off your 1/4 mile time, over stock vehicle performance.

    And for only $2800.00

Hey Streets, lend me your Visa Card, gotta get a couple of them units. Gonna book my tickets for the next NHRA event, gotta be there when Kid Bernstein goes 1.988 @ 612 mph.!!!!

I went to the website, if I make the Ranchero over 10,000 GVW I can take a tax credit on the purchase!!!!! Now all I gotta do is figure out how to add about 7,500 lbs to the weight of the truck!!! Geez, maybe he sells them little peicies of widow screen that go between the carbs and the manifold and will increase my fuel mileage by 30% too. Then I should be able to run in the 6's and get 22 MPG.

Red face A Mind of my own

OKAY...so perhaps this guy should have never posted here, and thanks to our forum moderators and all the info they collected I not only called their compoany and left a message....emailed them (already have a response!!!)...and I was able to do a little research as to this guys business history.
I am an Electrical Engineering Major, and a lot of what they are claiming about this technology makes a lot of sense. Just logically.

I have requested additional info. and after reviewing what they are stating (confirmed data) I can about double my gas mileage in city stop and go driving? On top of this the government pays me back for buying it? Sooooooo.... I pay it off in about a year or so. You guys are not quite understanding the 0-60 time .... but it took me plenty of college classes to get that down so I will not try to explain it to someone who won't get it. If you look at their pictures on their web links regarding how it works, and you know your motors and engines it actually makes a lot of sense.
I just mainly want to actually test drive it!!!

I have been tinkering with cars, as a hobby, since I was 7yo....and perhaps not a sexy hobby for a girl, but I know superchargers and turbos as I have both toys (amongst others) in my Stealth. It took about 17 hours (with a buddy's help) to get my supercharger in. From what alphamaleperformance.com has told me, it will take me about 3 hours to install this gizmo. WOW!
Plus they told me that everything is color coded and basically "plug and play" assuming I can remove and install an alternator (which I have done before).

I spent plenty of $$$$$$$$$ on my supercharger and I was never offered a tax incentive...to top it off my car is a bigger gas hog....as opposed to a gas saver.
I was in San DIego last week and gas was over $2..... totally sucked!!
I am not saying that I am going to jump out and buy one of these without seeing further info....but I am open minded, and realize that this technology could potentially be awesome (if it isn't already).
I am going to try and see if I can speak with someone that already has one...try other forums and find out, or even as the company if they have anyone that would be willing to talk to me that already owns one.
It just sounds like a bunch of kids here that jumped on the bandwagon....
IF what they are professing is accurate, our planet has just met a best friend (reduced emissions and fuel economy) and this guy is going to be a billionaire.

I think I might offer my car as a guinnea pig.

WOW, 3 second improvment! So does that mean I can add 2 and drop 6 seconds!

Hell, if I by 4 and put them on my old Fury III, I can make it a 8 second car!

Look out Pro70, the old fury is coming after ya! hehehe!!

    Well....4 of them...

If you had 4 on your car you would need 4 battery packs and you would never capture enough energy from braking without plugging the vehicle into a wall.

This Electrocharger seems to be capturing energy and is using it to help accelerate the car. Otherwise the energy from braking is just lost as heat and cannot be reused. From the diagram on their site, when braking, the Electrocharger is acting as a generator and storing the energy during braking when you let off the gas.

It's kinda like using a spring...for you mechanically minded people...hint hint.... during braking you are compressing the spring and then when it's time to accelerate you release the spring and use the force as the spring is uncompressing as you accelerate the vehicle.

However, it appears this is done electrically in the case of the Electrocharger.
I am not selling their product...this jsut makes sense folks!
