Nope, '54. The '53 had an oval shaped grille opening that was narrower, though parking lights still spread out the look. Personally I like the '54 much better............to me, the '53 looks like it's about to sneeze. And the tail lights Ken mentioned look classier. It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
