Very sharp!
My latest creation to protect me and my bandmates, it works great is easy to make and you're welcome to use it;
Here's a picture of the mic shields installed.
Good idea.
Since I've been stuck at home more I decided to play around with computer based recording. Downloaded Cakewalk DAW and a bunch of plugins. I've been having a ball with it. Of course it started with some free downloads and I think my current tally is close to 2K (gotta have a new killer computer right?, midi guitar pickup, audio interface, bass, drum software etc.)

Yes, that's the one.
So sorry.
I did not see your post earlier.
Work schedule has left me little extra time.
All good - I know all about the work schedule/loading.. Like I said earlier - just have fun with it. If it gets old and boring, set it aside and then come back when you can enjoy it again. That's what I have to do. I picked it up 'cause I wanted to quit smoking and needed to stay busy. And I actually find the experience enjoyable, I can be secluded or hanging with friends with like interests and just make noise if we want. But sometimes I just need to walk away from it for some reason. Then I'll drift back and start all over again! LOL..
The other day I was installing an input jack in an acoustic guitar where it was impossible to reach the jack through the sound hole, and it reminded me of a few tools I've made over the years for doing such tasks. So I combined my notes and thought I'd share (a couple of them actually help with our cars).
Thanks. I downloaded / saved & printed it.
Here's a tool for guitar kit builders;
Another slick idea! Thanks for sharing it.
I have added a OFR to the Eerie Dess Swirl.
Working on 80 BPM Penotonic Scale Exercises.
OFR = Original Floyd Rose (tremolo)
Eerie Dess Swirl = Iridescence Swirl finish

Good Job!
Thank You 36!!
Sorry about that

@36 sedan
nailed it.
It's too easy to think everyone knows the
" Alphabet Soup " some times.
Acronyms have been around for a lot time but, in that time - there are acronyms that are duplicated... and it seems to get worse in the trades! It used to be common courtesy to at least type out the words and then put the acronym in parenthesis ... then when you used the acronym, the reader could refer to the above and the words made sense...
At least that's how I was taught but that practice seems to have disappeared into the history.. not complaining.. just venting. LOL 8-)
Old School Bluegrass here. Son-inLaw is building me a guitar to match the 33.

Finally the conversation has turned to Acoustics :cool:
I am an old rocker (mostly Southern Rock), and made my living in my teens and early 20's on the Holiday Inn circuit-then, I came senses, had a Career (retired now), but have always been a Guitar/Bass player.
So, I turned Acoustic and have been playing them since I was 13-I play a lot of Blues and an eclectic mix of stuff-
Anyway, I thought I'd show two of my favorite Guitars right now (sorry for thebad pictures, but I had them loaded on my phone)-
The first one is Martin GPCPA1-typical Martin sound, lots of lower tones, great for alternative tunings and slide work.
The second is my Taylor 855ce 12 string, and amazingly it is one of my favorites-nice, bright, full sound while also being super easy to play-
I don't have pictures, but zi also have an 816ce Taylor, an 1867 Ovation Legend and I am having an itching to get an electric again- I've always played Les Paul's, so I'm in the market now and hope to have in a few Months once I figure out which one-
Nice looking guitars 35window. Don't think you can ever go wrong on a Martin... but they are usually outta my price range right now. Have been for a number of years.
I wonder if there is anyone who doesn't enjoy hearing a 12 string? I tried playing one that belonged to a friend of mine. My fat fingers would need a lot more practice to stay off the strings above and below the one I was trying to play! LOL...
Thanks for sharing the pics.
Speaking of guitars.. https://www.musicradar.com/news/tayl...ILVpFOKuclLCw4
Thanks for sharing that- while I absolutely adore my Martin (and I've had a few), I believe my Taylors' are equally well made (if not more) and more than a formidable competitor to Martin (they cost about the same)-
Taylor's been gaining momentum in the last ten years or so, and features like a resettable shimmed neck, reforesting a Ebony Forest in Cameroon (to establish sustainable Ebony), Warranty, first rate quality, customer service and a brighter tone (of course that is subjective) have all played a role in my ongoing love affair with them-a Martin dreadnought is tough competition though-
My wife has a Taylor 714, very nice guitar. Taylor's seem to be set up well from the factory, they always play nice. I've been lusting after a Gibson songwriter deluxe for years but have been too cheap to pull the trigger. Speaking of cheap, I bought a pair of Yamaha guitars to take camping with us and have been amazed at their tone and playability, I think they are as nice as guitars costing a 1000 bucks more. Liked them so much I bought a 12 string for the wife's birthday, it's super nice too.
I think Taylors and Martins are way over rated. I've got two 70's model Guild acoustics that I wouldn't trade for either of those regardless of how expensive they were. I guess I'm a tone freak. That might explain why I love the Flowmasters on my old truck. Haha
I think I'm going to try to do this swirl finish on my cheap Glarry Jazz bass. I'm going to pull out the frets to make it fretless too. I've only got 75 bucks in it so not much to lose.

Back to the Rock and Roll. I had my son in law build me a strat replica that matched my 33 Ford, sort of a hillbilly ZZ Top thing. SIL is an experienced Luthier and has done quite a few Basses. It took him a while to get it to the point he was satisfied. It is an awesome piece of work that he did. He color matched the paint, and developed a lot of details that brought the theme across ranging from the lettering on the headstock, the 33 emblem on the heel, and the gearshift knobs along with the chrome hardware. The pick guard is in the shape of a 33 Ford Grill. He is still setting it up so I haven’t got my hands on it yet but I cannot wait.

Oh man that is beautiful! He does some very nice work.

I finished the swirl paint on my jazz bass, used magic marble paint and spray max 2k clear. I re cut the headstock, stained and tru oiled the neck and did a fretless conversion with CA glue surface.

The front.
Very cool!
I agree, Cool and kinda crazy!

I’m having so much fun I built my own Telecaster.

Thanks! Your tele looks cool, was it a kit or a rebuild? I did a finish on a maple fretboard cheap china strat, I used tru oil and some amber stain , it looks great but it feels sticky when my hands start sweating. I went over it with some Deft lacquer and it's somewhat better but still kind of sticky.
This is the strat, 65 bucks on eBay. Upgraded bridge, pickups, tuners.Attachment 73731
