The angle wasn't like it looks from the picture angle-------but we did gain downforce-enough to run in the 5 second zone where our other car without (altho it held 14 track records, the NHRA national rcord, and the fastest drag race ever(at the time))))

So I'm getting the idea that you are just looking for one of the modern sportie cars airfoil? about 2 inches off deck lid?

No, not at all. Want a wing on struts. Think I found one at the Chassis Shop. It's a front wing that's the perfect size (40"x10") that wouldn't overwhelm the looks of the car. Also, I could mount it on struts connected to the trunk so it would raise and lower with the lid. The lid is steel with steel channel welded on for total support. Plenty strong. Sent an e-mail to them, keep you posted on what they say.

Update - Called the Chassis Shop, also Pro-Werks is basically the same company. They informed me that their guy who made the wings left and they were trying to train someone new. No wings in stock. Kept surfing the internet and found Neil Parks Racing. Called and talked with Scott. They had both 8" and 12", 41" long in stock. Ordered a 12" one. Scott was very knowledgeable. Ordered the hardware for my design with ART (Applied Racing Technology). I think my crazy idea is going to work. Thanks for your help. I will follow up with a couple of pics when I'm finished. Here's a mockup in posterboard.
