You like taking corners on two wheels?.
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

Simple. The shop that told me they could align it couldn't. As low as this car is slung, measuring is very difficult. I originally used a plumb bob to drop points to the garage floor, then measured between them, but the errors just stack up. A pair of toe plates was just delivered. How does 1" of toe sound to you? Need I ask? I didn't think so . . .Last edited by Henry Rifle; 10-06-2016 at 05:47 PM.

I just finished the toe-in and set it at 1/8". I haven't had time to drive it yet. The plates are 25-1/2" between measuring points, and my tires are 25" in diameter, so I didn't make any adjustment to the toe-in measurement.

Jack-how much castor/camber angle at king pins? And where does line thru king pin intersect tire patch?(wheel offset)
How close is the spindle arm to the tire?

does the car self center after a turn ? i think you need more caster angle . which is common on these cars because of their nose bleed stance . happens on camaro clips too. low in front high in the rear. try some axle shims.

They should have written a song called Scrubbing the rubber away, of course that could mean a couple of things. Right.

Shine, I have 7 degrees of caster and 1/2 degree of negative camber. I can't use shims to change caster because it's a coil-over suspension. Also, further caster adjustment with the hairpins would cause interference with the tie rod. In any case, I think 7 degrees is adequate. It did center after a turn before, but that scrubbing due to the monster toe really messed it up.
Jerry, the intersection of the kingpin center line with the tire patch is not ideal, but I don't have much I can do about that without buying new wheels, and that isn't going to happen right now.
I'll know more after my test drive.

Jack, I run 7/8 degrees with 1/8 toe and never have a problem. But ya may consider a new set of tires. I get a deal on 135/145 or 165's if ya need a set. When I get to where I was goin, I forgot why I went there>

Don, I just drove it several blocks, and it was an entirely different car to drive. I drove it hands off the wheel, and it didn't wander a bit. Easier to turn and steer. I didn't get a chance to test it at speed, though. I do think the steering box is set a bit tight. I'm running Nankang CX669 tire in 165/80R15. I may take you up on the offer after I get a chance for a bit more testing. I'll PM you then.Jack
