    Moredoor Family Ride

I just closed the deal on this today. A friend of mine has had it for about 3 months. Lost interest and I traded him out of it. It is a pretty cool ride. I thought about putting it on ebay and just selling it. But I'm convinced to keep it, fix it up, and drive it as a family ride. It will more than likely be a car my wife can drive. It is a 63 Impala 4 door hard top, sport sedan. 327 4bbl powerglide. Power steering, power brakes, A/C. What a cool car. This is the closest thing to a SS a 4 door car could get. He checked the numbers and it is the original 327 and it still has the power pack heads. It has one rusty floor pan, and needs 2 new body mounts under the trunk. The PO before my friend added an electric fuel pump too. My plan is to install a new mechanical lift pump and maybe an HEI. My friend is going to install the floor pan inlieu of some other trading we have done. The interior could use some arm rests, carpet, and seat belts. Maybe a newer radio and some speakers. Once it comes home, over the winter I'd like to fix the rust in the lower quarters and front fenders and give it a Maaco paint job. Maybe different wheels, and a good clean up. It needs some brake work, and the AC system needs repaired and retrofitted to 134a possibly. I'd like to make it into a nice driver. It is a 4 door, but a pretty cool one in my opinion.

    Who's keeping track.

4 doors are getting more popular so if nothing else, I'll flip it and use the money to get a different one. This one runs, so at least we'll have an old car to cruise in worst case scenario. I'm going to try to work on less people's head aches and work on my own in 2016..... Keep the laughter down. Haha

Here's a couple under hood pics. Years ago this engine would be worth more than the entire car. These days, I don't know, but I bet not.

This is a walk down memory lane for me, as I had a '63 Impala SS 2 Door (327 4/speed) in that same color (but a black Interior)-loved that Car-

Looks like you did very well there (but I am biased!)-

Wow, damn nice car, and been a 4 door shouldn't even come into the conversation as a family that cruise together stay together building more old cars. I like the '63/'64 Impala's whether 4 or 2 door and have spend lots of time cruise and building one piece fibreglass tilt front. Interesting enough, the car was painted that gold colour after we had finished the body work.

    I loved our 63-64-65-67 & 68 Chevy Impala/BelAir/Biscayne four doors.
Great drivers, loads of room and didn't cost me a lot.
Best part was NOT having to get out or smashed into the steering wheel to let someone in the back seat...joe

Nice! Very cool regardless of how many doors it has.

I was pretty excited to find a "different" 4 door finally. I never realized there was a sport version of a 4 door. As of right now, it looks like my friend I'm getting it from will be doing the floor board replacement. That will help in my work load. I am not planning to work on this car for a couple months. So, that will give time to decide what pieces need to be obtained and who from. I like to shop around and make sure the parts are good quality before pulling the trigger. I have to due to so many different irons in the fire.
